27 Jan. 2021 - McCormick Percussion Group recording wins Global Music Award gold
MPG’s recording of Ice Concerto by Jarkko Hartikainen won the Global Music Award gold medal as part of their new album, “Strings and Hammers.“ I had the privilege of recording this piece in 2018, and I am so proud that Jarkko’s work is recognized in this way! 7 Dec. 2020 - Awarded Professional Development for Artists (PDA) grant from Hillsborough Arts Council
I’m honored and thankful to be receiving a 2021 Professional Development for Artists grant from the Arts Council of Hillsborough County! These grant funds will be used to purchase a set of high-octave crotales. I’m looking forward to using this instrument in my own practice, as well as the music of other composers.
26 Aug. 2020 - Joining the music faculty at the University of Tampa
I’m excited to share that I will be joining the music faculty at the University of Tampa, starting in the 2020-2021 academic year! I will be directing the Interactive Arts Ensemble, and teaching private lessons in Contemporary Technology.
25 Mar. 2020 - “Constellations” lauded by Fanfare magazine
Eunmi Ko’s recording of David Liptak’s Concerto for Piano and Percussion Orchestra continues to receive very positive reviews. I was lucky enough to perform as a member of the McCormick Percussion Group for this recording, and the reviewer highlights my temple block performance in this review at Fanfare magazine.
1 Mar. 2020 - Tampa Homegrown concert series premiere!
We had a wonderful time performing the first concert of the Tampa Homegrown new music series! This concert took place at The Dance Project hosted by Luisa Meshekoff, and it was a wonderful experience. I performed Marissa DiPronio’s “Glass-Color” and Eduard Teregulov performed my cello solo “embalmed, enshrined, or cast out among.” Be on the lookout for more performances as a part of this series!
13 Sep. 2019 - “mechanics to wit” performed in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
For the first time, my music was performed in Malaysia. Michael Skillern performed the vibraphone/electronics version of my piece “mechanics to wit” at the International School of Kuala Lumpur!
